The precious wood walnut belongs to the walnut family. In the furniture trade, a distinction is often made between European and American walnut. The difference between these two woods lies in the fact that American walnut is darker and more uniformly coloured than European walnut, hence its name "black walnut".

Most furniture is treated with a natural oil that protects the surface from soiling. With solid wood tables, however, care should be taken to ensure that liquids are wiped off quickly. This applies in particular to colouring liquids such as red wine or fruit juices. Should a stain nevertheless occur that cannot be removed, you have the option of treating the area with fine sandpaper and then re-oiling with the appropriate oil.
